Empowering Lives, One Auction at a Time

At The Danson and Serah Kiundi Foundation, we combine innovation, commerce, and compassion to create meaningful impact in communities across Kenya.

Our Story

Danson Kiundi Yambu and Serah Mbuve Kiundi are the parents of the Foundation’s Founding Trustee, Richard Kioko Kiundi. Kiundi was born in Ukia location of the then Masaku Colonial District as the drums of the first World war reverberated across the then known world. The family migrated to Mbitini in the late1920’s. Kiundi was then introduced to Religion and education and became a staunch supporter of the two before being baptized Danson. He learnt to read and write at Kijabe Africa Inland Mission from whence he became a lay preacher as well as a promoter of education. Danson got married to Mbuve Mukoma who also converted to Christianity and was baptized Serah. Religion was made more palatable by combining it with education and modern medicine which trio Danson and wife Serah were staunch advocates for. The two established their first shop at Mwanyani market before relocating to Emali town. With some fellow Christians they championed the establishment of Kisaani AIC church and Nduundune primary school.
